The jury is still out

I bought this because of the claim about using tap water instead of distilled or boiled —— which I have ignored doing anyway for umpteen years. This Soft Tip Micro-Filtered Nasal Wash System seems more fussy to use than my conventional squeeze bottles and I’m not 100% sure I’m even doing it correctly. Am I supposed to do something to clean the filter after each use by unscrewing and diassembling the device into its component parts? I’ll keep using it for a month or so and then decide if I think its worth the hassle vs. going back to the “standard” one.

Originally I thought I just had a cold until the doctor told me it came with allergies. Under my friend's recommendations I found this nasal wash. I bought a filter one despite that I still try to use filtered, boiled water for it. At first I was dubious -- how much can "just washing your nasal" help with one's allergies? But it worked right after my first use that my congestion went much better and gone away after three, four days! I had started to recommend this to my friend and would continue using it in the allergy seasons!
